Two Awards for The Visitor in Montreal!
The 39th Montreal World Film Festival closed with distribution of the prizes.
The MWFF which began on August 27 ended last night with the film BELGIAN RHAPSODY a Belgian and Luxembourg co-production.
Over 400 films which were presented from 80 countries in the MWFF, had also two Turkish films, The Visitor, and The Secret, were screened in the international competition category. There were also other Turkish films in the different categories.
Mehmet Eryılmaz’s The Visitor received two awards, one, the FIPRESCI Prize and the other was the Grand Special Jury Prize.
The director of the movie The Visitor (Misafir) Mehmet Eryılmaz expressed his feelings like this: I am glad these prices that have great values, not only because it’s for my movie, but also for my country, Turkey.
Mehmet Eryılmaz in his speech during the ceremony of the prizes drew attention to the war that continues in the Middle East and called for peace in the world.
