Kâzım Öz, l’un des plus prolifiques réalisateur indépendant en Turquie, viendra nous presenter son nouveau film Zer à Montreal le lundi 24 Septembre a 19h au Théâtre Rialto.

Kâzım Öz, one of the most prolific independent directors in Turkey, will come to the stage with his new feature film Zer in Montreal on Monday, September 24th at 7PM at the Rialto Theatre.

Du réalisateur primé Kâzım Öz, le film Zer raconte l’histoire de Jan se lançant dans un voyage pour trouver les origines de la chanson de sa grand-mère pour résoudre le mystère et renouer avec ses racines.

La rumeur veut qu’un jeune berger alla dans un village à Dersim, la province turque. Là-bas, il tomba amoureux de Zer, la fille du propriétaire terrien. Cependant, le père ne les laissèrent pas se marier et maria plutôt sa fille contre son gré à un autre homme, un jour froid d’hiver. Le berger et Zer décidèrent de s’enfuir du village mais Zer se perdit dans la tempête de neige et gela. Lorsque le berger apprit que cela était la raison pour laquelle elle ne l’avait jamais rejoint, il perdit son esprit. Il commença alors à marcher de village en village en chantant à propos de sa bien-aimée Zer, et de son amour pour elle.

Le film Zer raconte l’histoire de Jan qui vivait à New York et cherchait l’histoire de cette chanson. Pendant que Jan faisait ses recherches, il se retrouva au sein de sublimes paysages, une culture authentique, des personnages hauts en couleur et les traces d’un massacre. Durant ce voyage, il découvrit le secret de sa grand-mère Zarife.

S’il-vous-plaît, notez que pour vos amis et votre famille à Ottawa ou Toronto, le film y sera présenté le 22 et le 30 Septembre respectivement.

From the award-winning director Kâzım Öz, the movie Zer tells the story of Jan who embarks on a journey to find the origins of his grandmother’s song to solve the mystery and to embrace his roots.

Rumour has it that a young shepherd went to a village in Dersim, the province of Turkey. There, he fell in love with Zer, the daughter of the landlord. However, the landlord did not let their marriage and he made his daughter marry with another man in a cold winter day against her will. The shepherd and Zer decided to run away from the village but Zer got lost in the snowstorm and got frozen. When the shepherd learned that was the reason why she had not showed up the other day, he lost his mind. He started walking around from village to village with songs about his beloved Zer and his love for her.

The movie Zer tells the story of Jan who was living in New York searching for the song of. While Jan was doing his search, he found himself in a magnificent geography, an authentic culture, colorful characters and traces of a massacre. İn that trip, he discover his grandmother Zarife’s secret of her life.
