Member associations of the Federation of Canadian Turkish Associations are jointly organising similar events traditionally across Canada, in partnership with one of the ethnic communities as usual, and in Toronto this year it is organised by the Turkish Culture and Folklore Society of Canada, within Macedonian community center, to enrich cultural diversity of Canada’s multicultural mosaic by bringing all the children of ethnic origin together, having fun and making life-long lasting friendships, while parents also network by connecting with each other.

This great tradition adapted by Republic of Turkey ever since on April 23th of 1920, when great Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkish Republic dedicated this day to the children, which historically marks the very first day of opening the Turkish Grand National Assembly. On 23rd of April every year, children from all over the World invited to Turkey, they sing songs and performs folklore dances in their national traditional costumes, all government offices including parliament and presidential/ministerial posts symbolically taken over by children to run the country for one day.

Please join this event and support our efforts in carrying on this great Turkish multicultural tradition to the new home of our children, to make Canada a better place to coexist and live together in harmony for our children.
