C’est l’histoire d’une famille qui lutte pour sa propre survie et celle de l’agriculture traditionnelle grâce à leur champs situé au milieu d’entreprises industrielles. Malgré la situation délicate de cette famille, leur fils Ibrahim rêve d’un meilleur avenir pour lui-même. Et il fait face à la dure réalité des difficultés socio-économiques qui entraveront ses projets.
Ibrahim est le plus jeune fils de la famille déracinée, et n’a pas suivi le rythme changeant des relations commerciales oppressives. Ibrahim est entouré non seulement par la situation quasi-féodale de sa famille, mais aussi par le système économique impitoyable de la région.
Jaune Brûlant raconte l’histoire de gens qui sont touchés par le changement des relations commerciales et doivent apprendre à vivre face au capitalisme.

In a field surrounded and squeezed by increasing industrialization, an immigrant family, deep in financial debt, struggles to survive through traditional farming. Their son, Ibrahim, dreams of a different future for himself. However, he finds that it is not so easy to turn a dream into reality.

Ibrahim is the youngest son of his immigrant family, which has been unable to keep up with the pace the changing times or oppressive commercial relationships. Ibrahim is surrounded by not only his family’s feudal circumstances but also the merciless system of the region.

His father, Necip, had moved to Mersin to farm vegetables many years ago and resisted change by applying traditional farming methods despite of increasing heavy debts. The eldest son, Muhittin, had long ago bowed to his father’s strict authority. However, Ibrahim is determined to find his own way. In making his own way, he risks shaming his father who is known as an honest man.

Yellow Heat aims to tell the story of people who are affected by the change of production relations and in parallel by the change of the capital.

“Mutfağın Ötesi” adlı bu belgesel İstanbul’un farklı semtlerinde yaşayan göçmen topluluklarına ve göçmen mutfaklarına ilişkin bir incelemedir. Yemek ve mutfak kültürü üzerinden, göç edilen ülkede açılan lokantanın kültürel ve toplumsal bağılıklıkla ilişkisi incelenmiş, göçmenlerin Türk mutfağı ve kültürüyle kendi kültürleri arasındaki etkileşim, benzerlikler ve farklılıklar sorgulanmıştır.
Farklı göçmen grupların İstanbul’a göç hikâyeleri ve şehrin çeşitliliğine mutfak kültürleriyle kattıkları zenginlik ve İstanbul ile etkileşimleri de araştırılmıştır.

Le documentaire intitulé Au-delà de la cuisine est un projet de recherche sur les communautés immigrées vivant dans différents quartiers d’Istanbul et sur leur cuisine. À travers la cuisine et la culture culinaire, la relation entre les restaurants ouverts dans le pays d’accueil et le sentiment d’appartenance culturel et social ont été examinés. L’interaction des cultures des immigrants avec la cuisine et la culture turques ainsi que les similitudes et les différences entre eux ont été mises en question.
Les histoires d’immigration de différents groupes à Istanbul et leur contribution à la culture urbaine de même que leur interaction avec la ville ont également été examinées. Les récits de l’immigration et la contribution des immigrants à la diversité cosmopolite d’Istanbul sont observés.

The documentary named as “Beyond the Cuisine” is a research project about immigrant communities living in different neighborhoods of İstanbul and their cuisine. Through food and kitchen culture, the relation between the restaurants opened in the host country and cultural and social sense of belonging were examined; immigrants’ cultures interaction with Turkish cuisine and culture, the similarities and differences among them were questioned.
Different groups’ immigration stories to İstanbul and their contribution to urban culture with their own culture of kitchen and their interaction with the city were also examined.
