Vertigo in 4 Times by Irem Bekter

A show to benefit the Syrian Kids Foundation …

‘We are delighted to support the Syrian Kids Foundation’

From wanderings to hope

An enchanting and uplifting show that addresses the themes of wandering and ‘métissage’ in a perspective of inclusion and hope, created by the remarkable Irem Bekter who uses music and dance to reveal four aspects of her life. Directed by Igor Ovadis. 8 artists on stage.

“When we live moments we never thought we’d live– that’s Vertigo, when we have the courage to forge ahead into the unknown. It disrupts our lives. The immigrant and refugee share the vertigo of the unexpected and the unpredictable, hoping to be welcomed and listened to. These are feelings that I share and I want to exorcise by this show”, she declares.

Vertige en 4 temps is the story of a passion for life forged by uprooting and laying down roots. Voice, music and dance intertwine with languages: French, English, Spanish and Turkish. The viewer is immersed in a story woven with twists and turns and surprises, whilst the scenes create new interaction between South American, Eastern, Western and popular cultures. A vertiginous fusion of jazz, classical music, traditional Turkish, Argentine and contemporary.
