Ahmet Aslan et Ahmet Íhvani donnent un concert unique à Ottawa

“Dear Friends,

Ahmet Aslan and Ahmet Íhvani, two prominent musicians from Turkey of Zaza and Kurdish origin, will be in Ottawa on May 20th at University of Ottawa, Theatre Department Academic Hall, at 8pm.

In their 2 hours live concert the duo will play and sing a unique repertoire of authentic songs of Anatolian and Mesopotamian culture which is under the threat of extinction. Bringing Anatolian music together with Western instruments, Ihvani and Aslan will play the guitar, the bağlama, and a special instrument designed by Aslan himself called La-Tar, a combination of classical guitar and bağlama.

Ahmet Aslan et Ahmet Ihvani, deux musiciens éminents de Turquie d’origine Kurde et Zaza, seront à Ottawa le 20 mai à 20h à l’Université d’Ottawa, dans le hall académique du département de théâtre.

Durant leur concert de deux heures, le duo jouera et chantera un répertoire unique de chansons authentiques de la culture anatolienne et mésopotamienne menacées d’extinction. Alliant la musique anatolienne à des instruments occidentaux, Ihvani et Aslan joueront de la guitare, du bağlama, et un instrument spécial conçu par Aslan lui-même, appelé La-Tar, une combinaison de guitare classique et de bağlama.
